Introduction

Game called Blood and Wine is a turn-based strategy game, the player's task is to efficiently manage a vineyard located in the Chianti region (Italy) in the 15th century. The player will face a number of challenges. The player's responsibilities will include, among others: vineyard development, employee management and taking care of their needs, improving the winemaking process and looking for the best time to cash it. The game is aimed at both for gamer who have already spent some time playing strategy games and for people who first contact with the genre of strategy. Therefore, the level of difficulty and complexity of the game should be balanced to give pleasure to strategy veterans and not to create an impossible entry for beginners.

Inspirations

We decided to raise the topic of wine in their work because we grew up in the center of Polish wine-making and have been enchanted by the International Wine Days taking place in their immediate vicinity. The influence of Witcher 3 on the creators' interest in the subject of winemaking is also significant, it should be admitted that the direct factor that pushed the creators to start work on the game was the seemingly unfinished thread of the vineyard "Corvo Bianco". The decision to place the action in the Italian region of Chianti stems partly from its resemblance to the Witcher principality of Toussaint and partly from Decameron, which made the authors aware of how important wine was in medieval Italy.

Graphics

Due to the limited resources available to us, we decided that the game will be embedded in only two dimensions. To make the graphic attractive to the eye, it was decided that the game on the graphic side would be based on hand-painted graphics depicting both the vineyard and the characters appearing during the genre scenes. As far as possible, some elements should be animated to make the game more attractive visually.

Platforms

The game is mainly directed to personal computers using the Windows system, but if the technology in which the game is made does not prevent this, we are considering porting the game to other platforms such as Linux or Android.
